Holy Basil, often referred to as the “queen of herbs”, belongs to the mint family and it is often used in cooking. The scientific name is Ocimum tenuiflorum and the herb are used to treat cough, cold and fever as it acts as an antioxidant and an anti-inflammatory agent. Holy Basil also lowers triglycerides and cholesterol levels and is known to have anti-cancerous properties.
